Good morning readers. Today I will talk about what almost every dream of EMS workers. Motorcycle ambulances. Sounds like a blast right? Absolutely! Many countries like England, Japan and Italy already use this type of first response. Heavy traffic, narrow roads, and long ambulance response times have prompted some U.S. cities spread motorcycle ambulances as well.
The idea is to decrease the response time. This enables the bike's ability to "slice" through traffic and maneuvering through city streets.
Most systems implement responders in a pair or two. A bicycle can carry ALS supplies and others can handle BLS supplies. In some areas, all stocks are stored on one engine, with the exception of the backboard. Lateral cabinets are specially designed to carry a heart monitor / defibrillator, medications, oxygen, respiratory sets, IV sets and BLS supplies.
In 2004, Miami Florida has become the first major metropolitan area to implement a motorcycle ambulance. They argue that since the implementation, their response time is almost halved. Other areas in the United States used motorcycle ambulances are Daytona Beach, Nantucket and Cheltenham.
countries across Europe have been using motorcycle ambulances for many years. As the population continues to grow and traffic continues to become more of a problem, it is likely that we will see more of motorcycle salvage throughout the United States. As it currently stands, metropolitan areas like New York and Los Angeles will likely benefit from the motorcycle program. This has left many people wondering: "Why do not we have already ?"
costs for the operation of a motorcycle jacket is pretty expensive as insurance rates are through krov.Sjedinjene States uses more private ambulances than most of the world. The first corresponds to the unit does not generate revenue, so many private providers may be reluctant to implement these programs.
I hope in the near future we will see more of a pilot program for motorcycles responders. Faster response times will translate into better patient care. Not to mention that it would be cool to work at once.
I hope everyone has a great week. As always, feel free to e-mail with any questions or comments.
